my kitten is about 2 and a half months already and recently i just started letting him roam outside because he started to just sit in front of our sliding door as if he really wanted to go out. last week i started letting him out about an hour a day, hell go to our neighbors and to the side of our house and hell always be back like in an hour, i started realizing that hes been sleeping alot more now ever since i started letting him out. he eats and drinks like normal hes just always sleeping. should i be worried?

I recently got a kitten, she is almost a year old. When I first introduced her to my 3 year old Jack Russell, she would hiss at him and he would wine. My cat died nine months ago and I still grieve over him. Is this normal?

I had him ever since he was a kitten, and he was eleven years old when he passed away. His death was tragic. He had a nasal tumor that I was going to have surgically removed. When the vet put the breathing tube in his throat he stopped breathing and they lost him. He had undergone many surgeries before this, so it was a total shock to me when it happened. I was so upset I cried all night and couldn't sleep. I still cry about him probably once a week or so. I did end up getting another cat and I love her too, but I still think of Sherman every day. I miss him so badly and I've never gotten over his loss. Is this normal? I've lost other pets in the past and it never hurt like this. Sherman was always by my side through some really hard times, like my divorce, and now he's gone. Every time I look at pictures of him, my heart aches because I want to hold him again. The last few weeks of his life he was so sick. I hand fed him and did everything I could to save him.

I know you all are going to say it's a myth but I have 2 cats, sisters from the same litter, I feed them exactly the same, they eat the same amount, but one is fixed and one is not, and the one that is fixed is way bigger than the other one even though she was the tinier one before she got fixed, and the one that is not fixed is the size of a 9 month old kitten and refuses to grow (both are 2 years, 3 months, 1 week, 5 days... obsessed, I know) . And don't yell at me about getting her fixed, she's an indoor cat and she's terrified to go outside, so I don't see it worth the price. Both are indoor but the one that is fixed is a little more adventurous so we got her fixed in case she ever does get out.

Kitten won't use litter box, tried everything?

Got my 8 week old kitten home about 5 days ago but she only uses the litter box if I put her in it, the litter box is in the bathroom and away from her food, its scoop away litter. They like to be petted, they like their chins scratched, they like to play especially as kittens, a simple string to chase is often enough to entertain them for hours. They are affectionate on their own terms. When you get the cat box use good cat litter, somehow the cat knows what it is and what its for, and clean the cat box every few days or so. Take kitty to the vet for vaccinations. I always have fed our cats dry food, I was told canned food has something in it that harms cat kidneys or urinary systems. I have had a couple of cats who lived to be 21, they never stopped being sweet loving little friends, they were wonderful. Enjoy!

i agree that its difficult to say. on one side, a good-bit of the beatles work from the late 60's was influenced by drugs. i think it changed their style a bit and if it weren't for drugs, i don't think brilliant albums like Sgt. Pepper's or Magical Mystery Tour would've existed. BUT on the other hand the beatles had made brilliant music without the use of drugs. Look at their early material from the early to mid 60's. it was brilliant music. brilliant albums from Please Please Me to their Rubber Soul album weren't influenced by drugs as far as i'm aware. Their masterpiece song 'Hey Jude' wasn't influenced by drugs and that song was written in 1968. I don't think drugs had enhanced their creativity but i do think that it changed their style a bit and helped influence their psychedelic rock that came in the late 60s.

Im asking for a neighbor, as I dont use them with my multi-cat house. They have a 3600 sft home most on one level. So Im young only 13. Played for 2 years and I have already made a name for myself in my district. I play 2nd base. Anyways, in an average game I'll catch 2-3 pop flies, make about 5 outs playing 2nd base, hit only doubles every inning if im lucky i'll get 1 tripple a game. I steal a lot!! and i mean a lot! In batting cages I hit 90 mph so Im a very good batter. There is no way that as a manager I'm taking a kid out of a game that he's pitching a no hitter or a perfect game regardless. Until he gives up that first base hit, he's in there. I think he is overreacting. If he was a true friend he would let you explain what happened and actually listen. You don't really need to explain yourself to the people he hangs around with. I may be answering my own question but I just wanted to get others advice who have more experience with kittens then myself. I have had my new kitten for almost 2 weeks now and so far he has been very sociable, playing, lying by me for cuddles and had seemed very trusting of me. However over the last 2 day he has seemed to swipe me with his claws a bit more aggressively as if not playing and has today been withdrawn and has been hiding under the sofa and not coming to me as he usually would. My mother and I have been having serious problems with our neighbors cat lately and we had came across a nest the cat was getting into. We do not know how many baby birds had started out but when my mother retrieved them, there were four baby black-capped chickadees in the nest. My mother brought them inside, fed them some of her ground up kitten food which he uses to help her baby finches. She put them in her aviary with her finches. A few days later I noticed one of the baby birds was face first at the bottom of the cage. Mother said the baby bird was dehydrated and I had to quickly feed her water gently through a syringe. But it was too late and the baby bird died in my hands. Mother was at work when this happened so I took the rest of the baby birds that she had put in the aviary (Even though they didn't seem to have any signs of being sick) And fed them water through a syringe. I put the baby birds in a separate cage from my moms finches and watched them all carefully. The next day 2 more baby birds had died through that night. Mother told me about the colors of their waste and how they poop and pee at the same time. She told me that they are only peeing. There is no poop so that means they were dying from not eating and that they had been starving for awhile. She said that the mom and dad birds had left them. Now mom and I are panicing. 3 of the 4 baby birds has died and we can't get the remaining bird to eat. My mother is very good with birds and she had to resort to force-feeding him. She said its very dangerous but if we hadn't he would have died. So my question is, how can I help this last baby bird so he can survive? I'm at my wits end here and am scared he wont make it. He is old enough he is flying now but not enough to eat by himself. Will he start eating by himself soon? or do I have to show him how? What can I do to help?

You can most likely switch the cat littler to non pine without any issues. I would probably buy a small bag of the pine but don't open it initially. Get a cat litter that as a similar texture such as yesterdays news with pellets similar in shape to what the kitten is used to now. After you get the kitten, introduce it to the litter box by placing it in the box a few times. If the kitten does some digging around in the litter it will likely readily accept the litter option. If not, put just a little bit of the feline pine on the top to emphasize that it is the new litter box. As far as the food is concerned, it is best to mix the desired new food into the old food and transition the kitten over about 7-10 days to the new food. Since you know you are not interested in feeding the Royal Canin, you might ask the breeder if she could give you a couple of cups of Royal Canin to get you started. You can offer to pay for it but obviously pay less than a whole bag would cost you. When I gave away kittens last year I always provided a few cups of the food the kittens were on to get the folks started and to alow them to use it to transition off of if they wanted to feed a different food.

Is my kitten dying?!?

My cat has been sitting in the same spot for a few hours each day. She's usually very frisky and loves to sun bathe, but now she stays out of the sun and in her little hidey-hole. Her fur has gotten thinner over only the past 4 days! She's also been coughing and sneezing. She tries to throw up here and there, but she only succeeds sometimes. Whenever you pet her she coughs and twitches. She's very sensitive to touch now, and she can barely open her eyes all the way. All she did was run around the house non-stop for a few days and could never get comfortable and never could rest and sit down. Is my cat okay? Should I try to force my mom to take her to the vet again?! I'm really worried for her and I thought I was sitting with her on her last night 2 days ago.. I can't let her die at 1 and a half years old, so I don't know what I should do. I'm so afraid for her. What should I do?

I think maybe you need to spray your room with a flea or bug killer, just to be safe. Fleas are so hard to get rid of once they are in your house. At any store they have different stuff that you can use safely with pets and that are decided to kill any bugs. Just make sure your new kitten is not in the room when you do use the product. If you think they are in your bed, use a powder then sweep it off. And it also wouldn't hurt to check your kitty cat again to make sure all his fleas are gone. Maybe give him a bath with a flea shampoo...they also have pills that are safe to take with front line that will kill all fleas and eggs on your kitty cats. good luck!

Please help! Kitten sick and cant go to vet?

I recnently got a 6 week to a month old kitten about a month ago. My sisters co worker found him abadoned and needed a home and my adult cat needed a pal so I took him in. When he got here I noticed he was doing a little bit of sneezing and had a bit of snot coming out. When I questioned the lady who found him she said that the vet said it was a passing cold and that he would be fine. So I let it go. After 2 weeks of seeing the sneezing get more frequent and a little more snot it was recommending that I use the antibiotics that I had remaining from previous kittens who had simulair problems ( recommended by a vet by phone for a small fee) so I did. This did not help. Now Im noticing that the snot is crusting on his nose and making it harder for him to breathe. I CAN NOT AFFORD TO TAKE HIM TO THE VET! Normally i would, i highly care about animals like they are my family. But thanks to state budget cuts my assistance got decreased and left me with barely enough money to pay rent. Can someone please give me something I can do at home or buy for cheap that can help this little guy out??? My heart is breaking there has to be something I can try!
