Should i have taken my pitcher out ? 14u?

I coach a 14u baseball team , we were playing last night and my best pitcher had 13 strikeouts and 2er after 6 innings. It was 6-5 (errors) going into the last inning. He had pitched 72 pitches though so we pulled them and he was very disappointed. They tied it up but we won in extras... did i make the right decision ?
