Got a new kitten, and now my other cat will have nothing to do with me?

I found a kitten wandering around on the road tonight, so I picked her up so she wouldn't get hit by a car. I brought her home, and now my other cat is furious. When i try to pet him (even when the kitten is nowhere around), he just hisses at me and runs away. Will he get over this eventually? How long will it take?
