Do you think that if the Beatles didn't do drugs, they wouldn't be as revered as they are today?

i agree that its difficult to say. on one side, a good-bit of the beatles work from the late 60's was influenced by drugs. i think it changed their style a bit and if it weren't for drugs, i don't think brilliant albums like Sgt. Pepper's or Magical Mystery Tour would've existed. BUT on the other hand the beatles had made brilliant music without the use of drugs. Look at their early material from the early to mid 60's. it was brilliant music. brilliant albums from Please Please Me to their Rubber Soul album weren't influenced by drugs as far as i'm aware. Their masterpiece song 'Hey Jude' wasn't influenced by drugs and that song was written in 1968. I don't think drugs had enhanced their creativity but i do think that it changed their style a bit and helped influence their psychedelic rock that came in the late 60s.
