Can 2 cats have their litters in the same room?

my 2 cats managed to escape just a few days before they were due to be spade and have both come home pregnant and i wanted to know if its safe to allow them to have their kittens in the same room i was thinking of putting 1 box either side of my bed with their own food and water bowls and litter trays or do i need to have them in seperate rooms. please no critism just helpful advice please
